is stunnerific. post rain glory. y mountain, a few low clouds, craggy rock. how do i live so close to outside?
today felt like fall, right after it felt like someplace USA, typhoon season. (are there typhoons in the USA? and why isn't there a good acronym for planet earth yet?) i ran across campus to meet a friend for lunch and burst into legends grille completely soaked. i was also cracking up because i love LOVE the rain and people were looking at me funny, mostly the people waiting for the storm to pass to go outside. clothes dry eventually and so do feet so quit your bawlin.
this little episode reminded me of that one time katie con and i went to gurus after school during the high school years. it was raining epically that day too, and kate was maneuvering the pontiac pontoon, but the windshield wipers didn't work and so kate was trying to see out her open window and we also were wearing goggles.
we forgot about the goggles for the first few minutes while we drip dried in the corner of the restaurant. the eyes adjust. but man we got some weird looks.
so glad it's fall. doesn't summer feel so excessive?

Thanks for sharing the memory from the past with Kate in the rain - my sides were splitting as I was imagining what that episode would have looked like. =) It was so great to see you at Liz's reception - sort of felt like I was sleep walking at that point, but still glad I got to see everyone.
my honest reaction (ask eric):
1 - NO WAY did she seriously bring up that gurus story when this very afternoon i thought of when a friend mentioned a sauce she likes to get a gurus and i told her "wow - i haven't thought of that restaurant in a long time" and then went on a little journey in my head as i reminisced the scene myself. awesome.
2 - hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. yes, i spent the next few minutes laughing my head off as i relayed that fun memory to eric.
LOVE YOU, and love that i know you would have sat on my porch along with me for hours last week (and then given in for a jaunt right in it like i did) in the east coast storms we had. it was unreal.
I love picturing that high school memory. And I love that your guys had goggles to wear! Cath, you're fantastic.
I want to drive in the rain with and kate.
